RIDE & STRIDE 2010
RIDE & STRIDE 2010
Ride & Stride, run by the Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust, is a great way to have fun with friends and family and raise money for the repair of local churches across the county when they most need help. It’s an annual sponsored walk, run, bike or horse ride, being held this year on Saturday 11th September. The proceeds raised are shared equally between GHCT and your nominated church.
You can walk. run, ride, cycle on your chosen route between churches which open for the day. Many of them serve refreshments as well as checking you in and providing a friendly welcome, directions and moral support. Whether you prefer a solitary expedition, or to go with family or a group of friends, you know that you’re joining thousands of people countywide to raise money for an important cause.

In Wyck Rissington, we are planning two activities.
1.A group walk to Great Rissington, via Little Rissington, and back leaving St Laurence’s at 1.30pm and returning for tea at the Village Hall. There is an alternative shorter walk to and from Little Rissington. Refreshments will be provided at both Little and Great Rissington
2.For those with horses or bicycles or who wish to run, plot your own route taking in as many of the participating churches as possible. Again, meet up for tea in the Village Hall in Wyck.
So if you have a horse, a bicycle or can walk or run, please join in. Download the Registration Form (click this link) or contact the local organiser at the address below. There is a special cash prize for the best entrant from the Rissingtons. Help to raise money for GCHT, have a fun day, and perhaps win a prize!
GHCT has been most generous in supporting St Laurence’s Roof Restoration Project with grants totalling £11,000. This is our chance to raise further money for the roof and to support GCHT in its future work.
